Wipro veteran Srinivas Pallia succeeds Thierry Delaporte as MD and CEO

Wipro has announced the appointment of Srinivas Pallia as its new managing director and CEO, succeeding Thierry Delaporte, who has resigned from the post.

The Bengaluru-based IT company said on Saturday in a statement that Mr Pallia will be assuming the role of MD and CEO, effective immediately.

“He (Srinivas Pallia) succeeds Thierry Delaporte, who after spearheading a significant transformation at Wipro for the last four years, is stepping down to pursue passions outside the workplace,” Wipro said.

Mr Pallia is a Wipro veteran, having spent over three decades at the company. Most recently, he served as the CEO for Americas 1. In this role, he managed various industry sectors, set their goals and executed plans to expand, leading to higher market shares in those sectors.

Mr Pallia also serves on the Wipro Executive Board. He joined Wipro in 1992 and has held many leadership positions, including president of Wipro’s consumer business unit and global head of business application services.

Mr Pallia began his career journey at Wipro as a product manager, progressing through different positions, such as president of the consumer business unit and chief executive of the RCTG business unit.

He holds a master’s of technology degree from the Indian Institute of Science. Additionally, he completed the Advanced Leadership Program at McGill University and a course in global leadership, strategy and management at Harvard Business School.
