RECPDCL hands over transmission project SPV in Rajasthan to Power Grid Corporation

REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC, a Maharatna CPSU under the aegis of Ministry of Power, has handed over a project specific SPV (special purpose vehicle) – Rajasthan IV 4A Power Transmission – to Power Grid Corporation of India.
Power Grid Corporation of India had emerged as the transmission service provider (TSP) through tariff-based competitive bidding process conducted by RECPDCL, the bid process coordinator, for development of the transmission project on build, own, Operate and transfer (BOOT) basis.
The transmission scheme is planned for evacuation of 3.5 gw of renewable energy (RE) power from Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone, which covers establishment of 765/400 kv, 2 X1,500 mva S/s near Ghiror (Uttar Pradesh), augmentation of Barmer -I pooling station, 283.05 km of 765 kv line and 43.28 Km of 400 kv line along with associated works. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 5,378.03 crore.
The SPV was handed over by RECPDCL CEO T S C Bosh to Power Grid Corporation of India Company Secretary Satyaprakash Dash in the presence of senior officials of RECPDCL, Power Grid Corporation of India and Central Transmission Utility of India. The project is targeted for implementation in 24 months.
