Tatas-backed Indian Hotels to buy 51% each in ANK, Pride to boost mid-scale presence

The Tata Group-backed Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has entered into share subscription and purchase agreements and shareholders’ agreements to acquire around 51 per cent equity stake not exceeding Rs 110 crore in ANK Hotels and a 51 per cent equity stake for an amount not exceeding Rs 94 crore in Pride Hospitality.
Both the transactions are aimed at deepening IHCL’s geographical penetration across India’s mid-scale segment, while continuing to pursue its asset-light growth strategy. The acquisitions, expected to be completed by November 15, 2025, will add significantly to IHCL’s portfolio.
ANK Hotels has a portfolio of 111 mid-scale hotels, which operate under Clarks Inn, Clarks Inn Suites and Clarks Inn Premier brands. It had a turnover of Rs 14.32 crore in FY25.
Pride Hospitality has a portfolio of 24 mid-scale hotels, operating under brands Clarks Safari, Clarks Collection and Clarks Resort. It had a turnover of Rs 18.94 crore in FY25.
“The transactions aim to address India’s heterogeneous market landscape and provide deeper geographical penetration across India in the mid-scale segment, while continuing to pursue its asset-light growth strategy,” IHCL has said in its filing to BSE on Monday evening. The announcement was issued after market hours. India’s largest hospitality company by market capitalisation at Rs 1.06 lakh crore saw its shares rising by 1.65 per cent to close at Rs 746.65 on BSE.
