Uttar Pradesh has reinforced its position as one of India’s fastest-emerging destinations for global capability centres (GCCs) at the NASSCOM GCC Summit held at The Westin Mumbai recently.
Invest UP, in collaboration with NASSCOM, showcased the State’s rapidly evolving ecosystem for global enterprises and technology-driven businesses at the summit.
The conclave witnessed strong participation from multinational corporations, investors and industry leaders, with Uttar Pradesh drawing significant attention for its progressive policy ecosystem, expanding infrastructure network, skilled workforce and proactive approach to governance.
Various sessions were held during the conclave. A high-level roundtable, chaired Alok Kumar, UP’s principal secretary (planning and programme implementation and IT and electronics), brought together representatives from leading organisations, including Adani Capability Centre, Capgemini, Infosys, Infosys Life sciences, McDonald’s and other multinational enterprises.
Senior officials – such as Vijay Kiran Anand, the CEO of Invest UP; Prerna Sharma, Assistant CEO of Invest UP; and Deeksha Jain, the ACEO of UPSIDA – also participated in the discussions.
During a fireside chat, The GCC Strategy Play: How States Are Competing To Win Global Mandates, Mr Kumar highlighted the contribution of premier institutions, such as the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi in strengthening the innovation and talent ecosystem.
He also underlined Uttar Pradesh’s growing focus on emerging sectors such as AI and drone technology.
