PSR Engineering College has collaborated with Sonline, a US-based software company, to train their students in industry-centric courses that can fetch them employment in American companies, the Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu-based college, has said in a press release.

PSR, one of the leading engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu, has signed an MoU with the US software company to train their students and the faculty for enrichment in areas of future, new-age technologies. Sonline has an established laboratory with advanced and modern computing and software facilities abroad to train the students of the college in areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Cloud Computing, Gamification and Cyber Security. 

An Internet of Things (IoT) laboratory with the latest hardware kits for training students on projects that are in big demand from the industry has also started functioning in the college premises. This has enabled students to get trained in coming up with innovative projects, leading to patents, the press release has added. 

R Solaisamy, the Correspondent of PSR Engineering College, has disclosed that five students, who graduated last year, have been roped in for employment by Sonline through a campus recruitment drive. He adds that currently 20 students, who are studying in the final year, have taken up internships abroad and are currently doing real-time industry projects. He also adds that in the future, right from enrolment in the college till their final year, students will be trained, empowered and industry-ready for employment in US companies.  

Dr B G Vishnuram, the Principal of the college, and Dr P Marichamy, the Dean of the college, with various heads of departments and faculty members are coordinating with industry experts of Sonline to introduce and implement special elective and laboratory courses, the release has added.
