Pride Group of Hotels, one of the fastest-growing hotel chains in India, on Wednesday announced that it would expand its portfolio to 50 hotels and over 5,000 keys by 2022. The group currently has 34 properties with over 3,200 keys. The Mumbai-headquartered hospitality company also plans to add 72 and 35 rooms at its five-star properties in Nagpur and Pune respectively, according to a media release of the hotel company.
Announcing the development, Pride Hotels Managing Director S P Jain said: “We would be expanding our footprints to 50 hotels nationally by 2022. The focus will be on an asset-light model for our expansion with a major slice of the portfolio managed directly by us. Most of these upcoming properties will be located in popular tourism and pilgrimage circuits, primarily in tier-II and -III cities. Over the years, we have significantly adapted to a new hospitality normal while also pursuing our growth plans. Currently, we are treading cautiously on capital expenditure. However, once the market reaches the pre-pandemic level, we will come back into expansion mode for our flagship properties.”
The new portfolio includes resorts and hotels in Mussoorie, Daman, Dapoli, Dehradun, Amritsar, Dwarka, Aatapi, Chandigarh, Faridabad, Gurugram, Ujjain, Ratlam and Vadodara, among others. The Pride Resort in Aatapi is an amusement park and resort located in between Vadodara and Kewadia (famous for the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest monument).
Pride Hotels are among the few hotel chains in India which manage their own property apart from entering into management contracts with third parties. It has followed a very innovative business module of acquiring ready-built, upscale, full-service, business and leisure hotels and turning around their fortunes rapidly. This augurs well for Pride Hotels due to its proven track record in operating premium hotels across India, which, in turn, helps it to drive the utmost professionalism in the properties managed by it, the media release has said.
The Pride Hotel Group operates under Pride Plaza, Pride Resort, Pride Hotel and Pride Biznotel brands with presence in 34 locations, 3,200 rooms, 70 restaurants, 92 banquets and conference halls, thereby reinforcing itself as a one-stop destination for MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and events). The company owns seven luxury properties in New Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Pune and Nagpur, the release has added.
