CHEMEXCIL achieves $30 billion of exports for FY23

CHEMEXCIL (Basic Chemicals, Cosmetics and Dyes Export Promotion Council) – set up by the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry – clocked $30 billion of exports of organic and inorganic chemicals for FY23. Of this, $27 billion were achieved between April 2022 and February 2023, CHEMEXCIL Chairman S G Mokashi has said.

Speaking at the 47th Export Awards ceremony of CHEMEXCIL, Mr Mokashi has added that the export promotion council will focus on the emerging markets concept of renewable chemicals, called ‘Green Chemicals’, as well as bio-based speciality chemicals and renewable chemicals. 

Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel graced the export awards ceremony and lauded the achievement. “CHEMEXCIL plays an important role of interfacing with the industry and the Union government in formulation of export-oriented policies to create a favourable and export-friendly environment to augment exports of chemicals from India. There are challenges ahead in this fast-changing world, and with continued policy support from the government and the council, the enterprising exporting community will definitely sustain and also surpass its enhanced momentum in growth of exports,” added Ms Patel.    

Prof M M Sharma, an eminent chemical engineer and former director of UDCT, Mumbai; CHEMEXCIL Vice-Chairman Abhay Udeshi; former CHEMEXCIL Chairman Ajay Kadakia; Chemical Panel Chairman Satish Wagh; CHEMEXCIL Executive Director S G Bharadi, members of CHEMEXCIL’s Council of Administration; export award winners and captain of trade and industry were present on the occasion.
