SBI may double total business to Rs 200 lakh crore by 2030: Chairman C S Setty

State Bank of India’s (SBI) total business could potentially double to around Rs 200 lakh crore by 2030 when the country’s largest lender marks its 75th year, Chairman C S Setty has said.
SBI’s total business, comprising deposits, loans and advances, crossed Rs 100 lakh crore in the second quarter of the previous financial year and stood at Rs 110.01 lakh crore at the end of June 2026.
SBI has not fixed a specific business target for its platinum jubilee year. However, based on its current growth trajectory, the lender could reach around Rs 180 lakh crore, with the possibility of touching Rs 200 lakh crore by 2030, Mr Setty has added in an interview with the news agency PTI.
“We do not have any milestone, but if you take the current growth rate, I think we should be around Rs 170-180 lakh crore, or maybe reaching Rs 200 lakh crore. That would be another important milestone,” he has said.
SBI’s expansion will remain closely linked to the performance of the Indian economy. If economic growth remains at 7 to 8 per cent, the bank’s balance sheet could expand by around 11 to 12 per cent annually, Mr Setty has said.
He has added that SBI’s Vision 2030 focuses on four key stakeholder groups — customers, employees, shareholders and the government and regulators, including the Reserve Bank of India.
